I spent some time this morning tying up a frame to support a solar panel and the battery pack from the GoalZero system that we purchased. This setup will allow us to have some electricity for personal electronics-laptop, tablet, battery chargers, cellphones, etc. It has both DC, and AC output and seems to be quite flexible and well designed. Ideally I would have it set up to track. There is some potential for shadow with the present set up, but I wanted to get something going to see how flexible and forgiving it is. I would rather learn about the system now, then while in the field.
